〈φ2〉 in the Spacetime of a Cylindrical Black Hole
نویسنده
چکیده
The renormalised value of 〈φ2〉 is calculated for a massless, conformally coupled scalar field in the Hartle-Hawking vacuum state. This calculation is a first step towards the calculation of the gravitational back reaction of the field in a black cosmic string spacetime which is asymptotically anti-DeSitter and posesses a non constant dilaton field. It is found that the field is divergence free throughout the spacetime and attains its maximum value near the horizon.

Colliding Axion-Dilaton Plane Waves from Black Holes
The colliding plane wave metric discovered by Ferrari and Ibañez to be locally isometric to the interior of a Schwarzschild black hole is extended to the case of general axion-dilaton black holes. Because the transformation maps either black hole horizon to the focal plane of the colliding waves, this entire class of colliding plane wave spacetimes only suffers from the formation of spacetime s...
متن کاملCharged Black Cosmic String
Global U(1) strings with cylindrical symmetry are studied in anti-de Sitter spacetime. According as the magnitude of negative cosmological constant, they form regular global cosmic strings, extremal black cosmic strings and charged black cosmic strings, but no curvature singularity is involved. The relationship between the topological charge of a neutral global string and the black hole charge ...
متن کاملQuasi-normal Modes of Toroidal, Cylindrical and Planar Black Holes in Anti-de Sitter Spacetimes: Scalar, Electromagnetic and Gravitational Perturbations
We study the quasi-normal modes (QNM) of scalar, electromagnetic and gravitational perturbations of black holes in general relativity whose horizons have toroidal, cylindrical or planar topology in an asymptotically anti-de Sitter (AdS) spacetime. The associated QNM frequencies describe the decay in time of the corresponding test field in the vicinities of the black hole. In terms of the AdS/CF...

متن کاملOrganizational Black Hole Theory
There are issues in organizations that require new theoretical formulation. Hence, metaphorical theorizing is used in the study of organizations to interpret them and understand their complexities. In this method, the organization is likened to an entity and one of the key features of that entity is generalized to the organization. It should be borne in mind that most organizational theories ar...
